fall is here and i did some fall like things today. my mom gave me some apples and matt has been asking me to make him a pie forever. today was the day! the pie was fun to make and it turned out great! i used this recipe.

i also made some pickled red onions. we had them in portland and they were so yummy. i hope mine turn out! i tried this recipe.

weekend fun

my love and i managed to get out of town on saturday and got to spend some time together.  we checked out a new skate park..... 

and then we just drove around and enjoyed each others company and the beautiful scenery...

it was the kind of trip that we love. singing along to our favourite songs, stopping where ever we want to take pics and to just relax. it was awesome!

we have been working so hard the last 3-4 weeks renovating our kitchen. we gutted the space and redid everything! thankfully matt is uber talented and was able to do everything himself with some assistance from me! it is not quite done; we have the backsplash etc to tile and the baseboards to do and some paint touchups, but it is a functioning kitchen and it looks AMAZING!!!!!!!  here is a sneak peak!!

matt and i did a day trip to jasper yesterday. we had a free day each on our sunshine-marmot cards and we definitely wanted to use them up! we have been having such an awesome season of ripping it up!! we have so much fun cause we have the same style: go super fast and hit every bump/roller possible. so fun! we ended up having awesome snow and some fresh powder even! check out some snaps from our trip!

my latest projects

So my friend chelsea ended up having a little girl last month. i had made her a red and white striped touque. she looks so cute in it! audrey took a bunch of pics of her in it. so sweet! BUT i thought she should have something a bit more girly AND a bit smaller since the red/white one was pretty big. i made this cute hat from my own pattern and then embellished it with the bobble edge and teeny tiny flowers from Lucy's blog http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/ she makes the cutest things and totally inspires me to use more colours!! anyway back to my projects...... so the hat ended up being SO cute and i wanted to make some booties. my friend sally send me the pattern for some sweet booties. they were easy to make and i made them to match! i can't wait to give this set to chelsea and ava! when i was on ravelry i read that someone was thinking of making the booties into little watermelon style ones. so i put my spin on it and made these ones!!! i LOVE them! i think i will give them to jane/audrey!!
